Lazy sunny afternoon

Got up late this morning, went for a long sunbath in our garden, showered, cleaned up the flat and am now sitting in front of the laptop. About the cleaning, well I will just put a job offer for a cleaning lady on the internet, I am tired that it is always me who is cleaning.

Plan for tonight:
Work out and work at Altwienerhof. After such a long time working there again... What will I do during the night?

Tomorrow, the salesperson at Intersport has told me that the bike would be ready. But I have to wait until the KfV transfers the money from the conference to my account to be able to pay for it... hach...

Yesterday night at Benno's was much fun with Christine and Heinrich, playing Scrabble, terrific, funny conversations, just being free, having peace, sharing time with nice people. :-)

Matt's CDs rock! Especially Cat Power. What an incredible voice!

Guitar Music in Burggarten

Went to work for OGM today and yesterday and also typed the things said during a group discussion for Info Research International yesterday night.

This morning started in a bad way: I had an appointment at my dentist's and they replaced the "wire" of my braces and did something nasty to my teeth as well. They said I should already make an appointment with the doctor at the AKH to speak about the operation next year. It kind of frightens me.

Yesterday, I received a letter from the US from Matt, packed with six music CDs, a collection of his favorites. I absolutely LOVE getting his music!!!

Was watching "De battre mon coeur c'est arrete" before yesterday at night. What a strange film! I was expecting something different, maybe more poetic not as... cruel. The end is weird: somehow left open. The look in the eyes of the guy really is freightening.

Pamina and her mother were still staying at our place for two more days, now they are gone, I suppose back to their place somewhere else in Vienna. It is very quiet without them. When Sabine (?) was here, everything felt clean and easy, it is just another feeling when there is a second female person in a household dominated by male people. :-)

I spent my day after work today at the Burggarten, in the city centre of Vienna. It is my favorite place to relax, definitely. So beautiful and peaceful and green and animated! Some guys were beginning to play guitar there and it was such melancholic melodies that I began to cry, thinking of my ill grandma and the childhood we spent at the farm of my grandparents.
Reinhard was supposed to come there and practise some Poi with me but he called me and told me something about having to go with a friend to the Russian embassy to get a visa for Russia. At least, I am happy he did not see me like this: sitting in the middle of this beautiful place, crying.

So I went home and will be heading for the fitness centre now. I am meeting up with Christine and Heinrich tonight at Benno's, another great place in Vienna, where we will be playing some society games and talk. :-)

My cousin Elisabeth has just rang me from the hospital in Linz and I was able to talk shortly to my grandma and her. She said that she has not seen me in years. And now, I feel sad. Same feeling when I think of Karoline and that I have somehow missed four years of her development from a child into a teenager. :-(

Pamina

Was awakened by some funny noise again: a child's voice. Since I am sharing house with two guys, this is very strange.
It was the daughter of Oliver's girlfriend (I cannot remember the name of the girlfriend), Pamina. What a beautiful name. The name of a central figure in Mozart's "Magic Flute". Very rare that anyone is named after her, I guess. She is one of the sweetest children I have ever seen and soooo talkative. The three of them and I had breakfast together and that was much fun: Oliver in his house-hold-role, his girlfriend preparing a wonderful breakfast and giving our messy and crazy flat a hospitable atmosphere and the talking little child. Had I fun! :-)

I spent my day finishing reading "Dschungelkind", a very impressive book, practising a bit of guitar and a work-out-session at the fitness centre.

For the evening, probably another drunk one...

Neighbour Fight

Could not sleep well tonight. At 0100am somebody came into the flat and started making a lot of noise. I thought it was my flatmate Oliver, drunk, not finding the way to his room in the dark.

This morning, my other flatmate, Lorenzo told me it actually was Maria, our neighbour. Apparently there is an agreement with her that she can use a big cupboard in the corridor for storage. Since she has a key to our flat (I have no clue why), she comes and goes whenever she wants.
The corridor is blocked at the moment by toys of the daughter of Olivier's girlfriend. Maria could not open the cupboard and was furious enough to make a big mess when moving around the toys.
So we will be having a talk tonight. I hope, I will not be here...

I spent my day with shopping at Merkur supermarket. They have a really good selection of vegan food. I also went to the library to get some world music and sat down reading some pages about Bulgaria in the Burggarten, in the city center of Vienna. There are a lot of roses and I love the smell.

Tonight will be another training session at the fitness center. At least, I am not as bored as yesterday. Riding a bicycle through Vienna is fun. I went to Intersport today to get a brandnew one, reduced from 290 down to 199, a Mountain-City-Bike. Not too bad. I hope I can get rid of the one I just bought yesterday. If not, well, I will just give it to my mum or to Christine since she will need one for the Netherlands anyhow. :-)

Sunday Boredom

I got up late this morning, half-asleep I had breakfast, got dressed, packed my stuff for the day and went to the ATM to take some money. There, I had a blackout and could not remember my PIN. - I had to go back to the flat and look it up... I really hate brain freeze moments like this when anything one is used to doing automatically becomes a difficult task...
I bought a second-hand city bike today but I am not sure if it is what I want. Anyway, the ways in Vienna will be easier and more fun now and I am more independent and can avoid public transport - which I hate so much: the atmosphere, the people, the waiting time, the smell, the arguments people all the time have, the children crying and nagging around...
In the afternoon, I am meeting up with Renate at the U4 Fitness Centre to train a little bit and go to the sauna afterwards. It is cold and rainy. These are the perfect days for work-outs!

Overall: A boring Sunday in Vienna. How to kill time effectively? I do not have a clue...

Back from Open Poi Camp

I am just back from the Open Poi Camp in Schwertberg, Upper Austria. So much time seems to have gone by since yesterday morning, when my sister Karoline and I were picked up at my place by crazy Reinhard who also went there. There, I met Christian from feuercircus and Gregor from firespirits. They both taught us a lot of techniques and after two days of practising, I know a lot more moves now. I am also owning my own sock pois filled with round dried chick peas (!) and I know for future reference how to create my own fire staff wood and aluminium fire staffand fire snakes fire-snkaes.

It was the funniest week-end of this summer because I learned a lot, was in the fresh air all day long, laughed a lot, met a bunch of very talented people (fire artists and dancers, djembe-drummers, jugglers and fire jugglers, singers), sat around a bone fire and shared an amazing time with people I did not know before. The most amazing thing was definitely the sparkling poi twirling of Ilse. And the hornpipes... And the firejugglers... And the drummers... Myself trying my hands on the djembe was fun too.

Reinhard was real fun to share time with because he has so much in common with me (being a tour guide for PDM, philosophy of life, getting directions, ...). I enjoyed his company very much and hopefully we will be spinning together in Vienna. ;-)

I am thinking of using the sparklers of Ilse for my show at Veli's wedding in Burgas but I am not sure yet about the song. For this, I will have a look at the library this week. They have a really god selection of world music there.

We came back tonight as it was raining cats and dogs in Upper Austria. I am awfully tired because I could not sleep because of the cold night in the tent.
